Duties:
The Tree Committee serves as an appeals board to decisions
of the Director of Public Works on tree issues, acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council, the Director of Public Works, the Parks and Recreation Commission, the Planning Commission and to the public.
Goals:
One of the goals for the Tree Committee is to prepare and
recommend a comprehensive plan of street trees for all streets of the City where planting areas are available and provided for trees.
Membership:
The Tree Committee consists of five (5) members and two (2) alternates appointed by the City Council. The terms of the members of the Tree Committee are three (3) years.
Meeting Schedule:
The Tree Committee meets on the second Thursday of each month (a second meeting, if necessary would be on the fourth Thursday). The meetings commence at 3:30 p.m. in the conference room at City Hall, 1480 Main Street. Agendas for the meetings include items scheduled for Committee discussion and action. Copies of the agendas are available on the Monday preceding the Tree Committee meeting.
