Duties:
The Parks & Recreation Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council and Recreation Director in all matters pertaining to public recreation and park development and management. The Commission advises the City Council on development of recreation areas, facilities and programs and aids in coordinating recreation services with programs offered by other governmental agencies and private organizations. The Commission reviews the annual budget and makes recommendation on long-term capital improvement.

Membership:
The Park & Recreation Commission consists of five (5) members appointed by the City Council. The terms of the members of the Park & Recreation Commission are three (3) years.

Meeting Schedule:
The Parks & Recreation Commission meet once a month on the third Monday of the month. The meetings commence at 7:00 p.m. at the Carnegie Building located at 1360 Oak Avenue. Copies of the meeting agenda are available at 12:00 p.m. on the Thursday preceding the Commission meeting.
